Advance Personal Care Aide’s responsibilities include:
- Assisting clients with personal hygiene by giving baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves.
- Assisting with transfers and lifts.
- Assisting with transfer to and from the bathroom.
- Assisting with activities of daily living by serving meals, feeding clients as necessary, ambulating, turning and positioning clients.
- Providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Providing ostomy hygiene care to a well-healed stoma site, external catheter care, and bowel program care (e.g., administering enemas, etc.).
- Applying prescription ointment and non-sterile dressings.
- Assisting with passive range of motion.
- Assisting with toileting of clients who are incontinent or diapered.
- Assisting with oral medication and organizing medication set up per plan of care.
- Maintaining clients’ stability by checking vital signs and weight.
- Recording intake and output information.
- Reporting abnormal observations of clients to nursing supervisor.
- Documenting actions by completing nursing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Maintaining work operations by following policies and procedures.
- Protecting Agape In Home & Health Care’s values by keeping clients’ information confidential and adhering to professional state and federal laws.
- Updating job knowledge by participating in educational in-service training and maintaining current licensure.
